About
360 Feedback
- 360 degree feedback is a process by which you assess yourself
against a set of criteria. Other groups of people who work closely
with you will also assess you against the same criteria so that
you can compare the results. These groups will include your manager,
your peers and your direct reports and may also include indirect
reports and customers or business partners and suppliers.
- The aim of 360 degree feedback is to enable participants to
increase their awareness of their strengths and weaknesses and
to understand how their behaviours may impact on others. The
benefits of 360 degree feedback are increased when the feedback
is given by an experienced person who will assist in the creation
of a personal development plan. This may be further enhanced
by additional coaching sessions.
- The criteria used to make an assessment are based on behaviours
linked to the organisation’s goals or values. Questions
are asked about behaviours which are assessed on a scale. Participants
will receive a report so that they can compare their scores with
the scores of different groups. Reports will also include some
open ended comments.
